Conduct Policy:

  1. It is expected that each tournament participant present themselves in a positive manner, good sportsmanship throughout the event is an absolute requirement of every player and attendee, throwing a fit, acting out against your opponent, incessantly arguing your position with judges or any other manifestation of poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated
  2. Most tournaments have a scoring system to incorporate this behavioral requirement into players overall scores. At Renegade Open sportsmanship will not be used when calculating scores, instead player’s sportsmanship will be monitored over the tournament, and if a player is giving a strongly negative sportsmanship score or witnessed violating any other conduct policies they will be given a verbal warning by a tournament judge that their behavior has not been what is expected of tournament participants and if it continues they will be asked to leave the tournament. If the player is given a second strongly negative sportsmanship ranking they will be notified that they are no longer be eligible to receive any prize support and may be asked to leave the tournament.
  3. There will be 4 Yes or No sportsmanship question on each scoring sheet these are the base requirements of ever tournament participant, they are as follows:
  4. These questions must be answered by each player. Additionally there will be a box that can be checked if you would like to speak to one of the tournament judges privately about your game.
o Was your opponent on time and did they present you with a clear and legible list?
o Were you and your opponent able to handle any rules disputes in an amicable manner?
o Were you and your opponent able to play your game within the time allotted?
o Would you play this opponent again?
  5. Slow Play: All games should be played in a timely fashion. Stalling to run out the rounds timer is not permitted and may result in a negative sportsmanship ranking.
  6. Rules Disputes are bound to occur. Players should attempt to resolve all rules disputes between themselves using the appropriate game system documents. If this fails, or the rule is ambiguous contact a Floor Judge who will attempt to resolve the dispute using the appropriate game system documents. In some extreme situations, a Floor Judge reserves the right to escalate issues to the Head Rules Judge – his/her decision is final.
  7. Cheating will not be tolerated. Proof of cheating will lead to expulsion from the tournament and potential be added to a banned list from future events.
  8. Players are expected to have a solid grasp of the rules and are responsible for challenging their opponents when those rules are broken. If players cannot come to a resolution, then the matter must be brought to the attention of a Floor Judge DURING the game. At that point the floor judge will weigh the evidence and take appropriate action (Which may result in anything from a warning to expulsion). Please remember though this is a complex game and honest mistakes are often made. Every attempt to resolve the issue should be made prior to calling over a Floor Judge. Note: Claiming your opponent is cheating to simply influence the outcome of the game is cheating in and of itself.
  9. Random List checking will occur throughout the event. If a player’s list is found to contain illegal units or any other rules violation, at a minimum, the models in violation will be removed from all subsequent play. If the list is found to exceed the event’s intended point value, the player will be required to remove an ENTIRE UNIT from all subsequent play in order to bring the list back within the confines of the event. In all cases, the tournament organizers reserve the right to nullify any game outcome resulting from illegal play.
  10. Renegade Open does not require the use of any specific dice, however your dice must always be made available to your opponent to use if they so desire. Tournament organizers reserve the right to remove any dice showing excessive wear, obvious tampering or other questionable deformities.
  11. Observing other player’s game is allowed as long as observant does not comment on game play or make suggestions to players.
  12. Filming the event and photographing miniatures is not only permitted but encouraged! Please take pictures and share them!
  13. Please treat all terrain and table with the utmost care and respect throughout the event. A lot of these items are donated by local stores for use in the event and we want to show them we are grateful for their donations, as without them this event could not occur.
  14. Please dispose of all trash in proper waste receptacles, lets keep the tournament clean for everyone.
  15. Collusion and Bribery:
The decision to drop, concede, or agree to an intentional draw cannot be made in exchange for or influenced by the offer of any reward or incentive. Making such an offer is prohibited. Unless the player receiving such an offer calls for a judge immediately, both players will be penalized in the same manner.Players are allowed to share prizes they have not yet received in the current tournament as they wish and may agree as such before or during their match, as long as any such sharing does not occur in exchange for any game or match result or the dropping of a player from the tournament. As an exception, players in the announced last round of the single-elimination portion of a tournament may agree to divide tournament prizes as they wish. The result of a match or game may not be randomly or arbitrarily determined through any means other than the normal progress of the game in play. Examples include (but are not limited to) rolling a die, flipping a coin, arm wrestling, or playing any other game.Players may not reach an agreement in conjunction with other matches. Players can make use of information regarding match or game scores of other tables. However, players are not allowed to leave their table during their match or go to great lengths to obtain this information.Players in the single-elimination rounds of a tournament may, with the permission of the Tournament Organizer, agree to split the prizes evenly. The players may end the tournament at that point, or continue to play with only final standings at stake. All players still in the tournament must agree to the arrangement.
